BattenVents are made of High-Density polyethylene plastic that are available in various sizes for example 2-ply measuring 2-3/8″ wide X 3/8” thick X 36” long. These are designed for maximum cross ventilation on the job with installation flexibility (ie: cedar roofing battens, wall siding battens, fascia strip venting, above rafter venting for skylights, etc. Custom sizes are also available.

Description
BattenVents are made of top quality, rigid, high definition polyethylene, corrugated plastic for air flow. They are available in various stock sizes in thickness and width including the popular (2-ply) 2-3/8” wide X 3/8” thick X 36+” long for maximum on the job installation flexibility. BattenVents allow air to travel in all directions behind the surfaces through the built-in corrugated air channels that connect the air passages behind the siding or other building materials to the outside air. This allows the walls or roof system to dry out the materials within, preventing moisture build-up inside the wall or roof system whether from leaks or condensation. BattenVents are rigid, strong and easy to handle. BattenVents are easy to cut with a retractable utility knife and easy to install. Standard sizes are 2-3/8” wide X 2 ply, 3 ply, or 4 ply thicknesses as shown. Other widths that are stock 1.5”, 3.5”, 4” and 5”. Custom sizes are available in different width and thicknesses. These BattenVents can be used for Cedar Roofing, all types of siding for air and drainage, used on top of rafters below the roof deck to gain cross ventilation for skylights, valleys and hips on new construction, on fascia boards to gain intake ventilation, and as a finished perimeter vent for Cedar Roofing along the rake edges.

A No, but an insect screen can be added. Note that the holes are 1/8” square so most insects are larger than that. Some of the DCI products have the insect/weather screen attached if using the product in areas that require that protection (check out other products on our site that show the weather guard fabric). The standard Batten-Vent used in most cases does not include the insect screen but it can be added on any product we offer. Just contact our factory and we can discuss the added protection at very reasonable costs. We offer custom ventilation also for any need.
